Kiwicon 7 Wellington Girl Geek Dinner (Nov)

Drumroll please… We’re pleased to announce the second annual Kiwicon Girl Geek Dinner on the 8th of November!

Set on the Friday night before the conference at Monsoon Poon, we’re hoping this will give everyone a chance to meet up before the ‘con kicks off the next day.

The event is not restricted to just Kiwicon attendees, so if you’ve missed out on a Kiwicon ticket, or are just curious, we’d love you to come along and get to know each other over dinner.

Doors will be open from 6pm. We’ll be posting a menu soon.

Tickets are priced at $20, with a limited number of student tickets available at $5 each. Tickets are available for purchase thanks to the awesome team at Lil Regie, but you’ll have to be in quick!

We’d like to thank Kiwicon for their generous funding and support to make this event happen again, after a sell-out event last year we’re hoping this year’s will be even bigger and better!

As always tickets are for woman, however Men are also welcome as a guest of a woman attending.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Speakers for our upcoming event

So we’re really excited about announcing the awesome ladies who will be speaking at our Girl Geek Dinners at Nethui on July 8th.

Our first speaker is Merrin Macleod who¬†will talk on her recent work organising Wellington’s Rails Girls, a free weekend event open to all enthusiastic girls and women.

Merrin makes internet at Rabid, is technically a full-time design student, and is full of crazy ideas about making things better for people. She organised Wellington’s first Rails Girls workshop at the beginning of June and will explain to you why Rails Girls is great, why it’s kind of problematic, and what other steps need to take place towards achieving her ulterior motive of a diverse, welcoming and successful technology industry.

Our second speaker is Natasha Lampard. Natasha is the mother of an event called Webstock, a start up called Lil Regie, a dog called Bird and three tiny humans called Belle, Harry and Xanthe.

You can get your ticket right now from here or read details about the event here.
